What is coming
Just back from almost a month touring Spain and its wineries, so lots of reviews to come to wineinvietnam.com very soon, with many outstanding wines tried!
Monday, 1 December 2014
Mercedes Eguren Shiraz-Tempranillo, Spain
Wine: Mercedes Eguren
Producer: Kame
Region: Tierra
de Castilla
Country: Spain
Colour: Red
Year: 2011
Grape: Shiraz, tempranillo
Supplier: Saigon FNB
Restaurant: Wine Embassy, Ole, Crepitee
Price (VND): 399.999
Points: 82/100
Pairs well with: Ideal food matches are grills, and
roast, as well as medium and mature cheeses.
Notes:
This wine offers
a dark cherry colour.
On the nose
you will get a explosion of red fruits, mostly dark cherries, plumbs, toast and
a hint of cocoa.
On the palate
you can feel the fight between the shiraz and the tempranillo, which offer a
great mix: plumb, dark cherries, some acidity and great complexity.
It is
recommended to decant this wine 30 minutes before drinking and use a wide glass
to make the most of it.
Ideal food
matches are grills, and roast, as well as medium and mature cheeses.
NOTE:
Although I am fully independent and impartial in all my reviews, including this
one, please note that I represent this winery in Vietnam.
