Crianza Ugarte, Rioja, Spain

Wine: Ugarte Crianza
Producer: Eguren Ugarte
Region: Rioja
Country: Spain
Colour: Red
Year: 2010
Grape: Tempranillo
Supplier: Looking for importer in Vietnam
Price (VND): N/A
Points: 87/100
Pairs well with: on its own, as well as with some tapas
Notes:
Dark in colour , homogeneous opaque dark purple.

The nose brings some toast, strawberries and fresh berries and dark cherries.

The palate is a joy, well balanced and with the right amount of complexity. Aromatic finish with plenty of fruit with oak notes, making it a vibrant Rioja, without the overwhelming power of too much oak, making it ideal to have on its own, as well as with some tapas.

By the way: I am now working for Eguren Ugarte winery in Vietnam (check www.vietnamfacile.com), however I am doing my best to give an independent review. I chose this winery because this is one of the two wines I usually drink on a daily basis in Spain.

Independent review from Wine Spectator awarded it 88 points. In my opinion this wine will reach over 90 points if kept for 2 more years, but it is delicious already.
